Participants (38 black, 45 white) were told that they were paired with another participant for the study. Black participants told their partner was white, white participants told partner was white. Participants told partner could see them or not. Completed self-description form, received positive or negative feedback from partner, self-esteem reassessed. When partner gives negative feedback if seen: not affecting them at all, makes an external attribution, must just be saying that because they are racist.
