Easier to meet far-flung others with similar interests: proximity, some studies: all else being equal, a partner who is nearby has a big advantage over one who is far away (gcr > ldr) With a few studies showing ldrs = or better than gcrs in some domains (intimacy, love, rel satisfaction, communication: our study (dargie et al. , 2015) no difference between same-sex and mixed-sex.
