They know that the person there is a researcher and they aren"t being lied to. Attractive because they are open and anyone could walk into it: public parks, downtown, Can be difficult for people to be able to talk to you because: people are watching, you don"t have pre-established network. Some sort of boundary or restriction to access to the space. Researchers use contacts networks and colleagues to access the setting and get access to the participants. When they have power they have things thry can trade with the participants.
