We label someone and it causes deviance. Best repressntned in our society as te criminal trial. How the person sees themselves and how others see them if see self as deviant have no job, etc, you do secondary deviance, more crime orcutt. Not much intensity in the interaction, but there are high levels attitudal hostility, low lvel of interactional hostility not much iteraciton between persecutor and the accused inclusionary societal reaction : Want pll to still be part of society but we want to still sanction them and make sure they know what they did was wrong. High intensity in interaction between accused and punishing person low to moderate attitudal hostility. A lot of interacional hostility meaning it can get very emotional. Ie. think of when you get in trouble with your mom. 2 . dependent variable a . power and resources. Fewer ressorces= less power= more likely to be labelled: social distance. Between person being labled and the labeler.
