Document Summary
This theory is used to link between unemployment and crime and how it influences their emotions and behaviour. Types of attributions: locus: whether people make internal or external attributions. Internal: see themselves as part of the explanation (blame myself) Lack of effort, lack of skill, lack of ability. External: view outside sources as part of the explanations (blame outside sources) Poor economy, lack of government intervention: stability: Stable: something that isn"t going to change. Unstable: something that will change in the future. Trying harder in the future: controllability: is the outcome controllable or uncontrollable. Can control how much effort you put in. Attributions emotions: anger, guilt, depression, different combinations will lead to different emotions, e. g. External attribution + stable + controllable anger: e. g. internal attribution + stable + uncontrollable guilt / Attributions crime: effects can be direct or indirect. Attributions emotions crime: e. g. Internal attribution + stable + uncontrollable + depression .
