Things referring to nature without the use of god"s , talk about it rationally. Center of culture = athens (the mainland) and cosmology didn"t start there, it started in surrounding areas w/ thales and anaximander of miletus. Later on people are less concerned with physics and more concerned with politics and ethics, gorgias and protagoras. All these influence end up in athens from the east mostly. Arkhe = firth thing, origin, foundations, principle (word archeology comes from this word) Geometrical explanations + ideas of a law of nature. There is only one fragment of what he might of wrote talks about nature as a legal agent there is a state of equilibrium when there is justice, equilibrium is infringed when an injustice occurs. Goes from one extreme to another extreme. There is no injustice if the earth is in the middle, therefore it doesn"t move. (when they thought to believe the sun revolved around the earth)
