Time: places as theatres lighting, alters character of place, shade from light as place itself. Colour: with light, identifies place, suggests moods, place recognition. Temperature: central consideration for arch, may be associated with light. Sound: may be as powerful as light, material change, alterations, natural not subject to control, maybe anticipated positive, modifying element. Complex places, some ancient types (e. g. altar, tomb) Ancient places address fundamental aspects e. g. shelter, eating, socializing.
