Our focus is critical thinking for better decision-making. We need to figure out what to believe to make good decisions. Content of a belief is a claim. Claim is a statement, which is capable of being true and false. We need to decide which claims to believe and which not to believe. To believe a claim is to accept it: as a reason for action, as a premise in an argument. Actually: belive if there is a good enough reason. It usually matters what is at stake: just believe the truth . Is unreasonable, impossible, we don"t always believe the truth. Someone told me so: they could be mistaken, the reason discussed for own eyes , they might have a objective, they might not. Experts: rule of thumb, who"s an expert, expertise is specific to a field, experts can still be affected by biases, in expert disagreement it"s important to conduct further analysis.
