This crisis would also affect the stakeholders in many ways, such as financially and emotionally. Volkswagen had to act in an ethical manner by protecting its stakeholders, meaning they had to cheat on the emission test, which is unethical. Therefore, no matter how volkswagen handled this crisis, it would affect either their stakeholders or harm the environment. In order to achieve that, they had to build larger cars, but they also needed to comply with united states" standards on mileage. Volkswagen was focused on diesel engines, many other problems arose. Although diesel engines are able to get better mileage, they emit more pollutants than conventional engines. Cheating on emission tests solved all those problems. Technology was also a huge factor in creating the software.
