Sigh sound iled lawsuits against other online music retailers like cdnow and n2k that were staring to sell digital iles of their own. Sight sound had patents on the technology for selling digital downloads, it argued that the method of selling digital downloads was patentable. The apple store not only sells more music than any other digital retailer, it has been the leading music outlet in north america since 2008 and holds a similar posiion in most other global markets. Digital music is a thriving commercial market and the fastest growing sector of the recorded music industry.
