Victims can also feel relieved by not going through with the full case because of the traumatization. Victim feels betrayed if they are following the case; they want the full process to happen. Based on how the trial is shaping up, done for strategic purposes. Pressure to not bringing cases to trial. Speeds up the process with plea bargaining. Can happen at any time during the trial (before charges, during trial, any time a verdict can be reached)
