Police responsibilities: criminal investigations specialized forces, major crimes, forensic teams, internet crime, organized crime, crimes against children, emergency responses, operational support (canine, sex. assault, firearms, traffic (collision investigation) Police practices: district patrol, helping, education, evidence based policing, preventative policing: patrol, surveillance and knowledge production, undercover operation. Police conduct and accountability: criminal code and all provincial laws as well as municipal bylaws, police boards: It is now the politicians that intervene and cause investigations to happen for police misconduct because of huge media involvement in these cases. Which causes outrage: non-government organizations: canadian civil liberties organization: They are completely independent of the police and are therefore not biased towards the police.
