Document Summary

Criminology is the study of crime and criminal behaviour whereas criminal justice is the study of the agencies involved in prosecuting, sentencing, incarcerating, supervising, etc. of suspects or convicts of criminal behaviour. Two factors working against the criminal law system being considered a system : the different orders of criminal justice agencies, the lack of ability to exchange information through computer systems and software (i. e. offenders release plans files). This can have serious consequences for the victim, the offender, and the community as a whole. Criminal justice system agencies, organizations, and people involved in preventing and responding to crime and people charged with or convicted of committing a criminal offence. Operations of the criminal justice system: crime control the complete power of criminal justice agencies (police, prosecutors, etc. ) to arrest and prosecute offenders, due process protecting citizens from possible abuse of this power. Not to control or prevent crime, but to ensure that justice is served.
