Deception; informer working w/who"s being informed against, pretending to work w/ but really gathering info to use against the informer. Criminal activities are what makes them valuable. May be involved w/person informed against after the fact. In dangerous position, can get killed if caught the handler. In danger, if informer refuse to cooperate and blackmails.
