Cyc practice competence includes more than just the theory, knowledge & skills required to perform a particular job, it also demands a particular worldview (way of being) which is drawn from the core characteristics of cyc practice. Then we are introduced to the 7 domains that are part of the child and youth care practice. First of all a domain is basically a source of influence within which you obtain knowledge & as a result are able to put forth an influence on the lives of children, youth & families. The 7 domains of the child and youth care practice are: self, professionalism, communication, systems, interventions, development, and relationships. It states that the foundation of the effective practice is the domain of self.
