Primary purpose of this act (3 factors: protecion (safety, well-being, best interest. Age of criminal responsibility: under 12 (child welfare concern, 12-17 (youth criminal jusice concern) 187 best interest test- guides the court to consideraion of what"s best for the child. Prescripive: necessiies of life, ensuring that a child"s needs are being met. Proscripive: standards the prohibit a paricular acion, limit authority of parent and other adults, an adult is prohibited from encouraging and exposing child to violence, sex, etc. In loco parenis: meaning in the place of a parent, individuals who are in line for duty of care" for the child in that paricular circumstance. Duty of care: obligaion and responsibility of an individual to provide care to a child (whether you"re the parent or your taking care of that child) Enhanced duty of report for professionals working with children. Overrides and prohibits all overriding statues, because it is required in law to keep children safe.
