Document Summary

By the 18th century, the gothic is no longer seen as just negative, and develops more complex connotations; it"s more fascinating and interesting. Inspiration is located in the irrational side of the mind. There is no possibility that these stories exist in the same time and place that i do the reader can come back to the now they are given a safety belt. Both become very popular in mid-late 18th c. Allowed writers to take themselves out of the novel, they are the collectors of the pieces and they put it all together for example, but the stories are real and authentic.
