Biomimicry: this article de nes the design strategy of biomimicry, this is the use of nature to inspire textiles. Nature is sustainable from which we can learn: biometrics is the study and research that aims to develop products that replicates the sustainability of nature. 5 fibre finished innovations already in the market place: velcro: inspired by a bur attaching to a mans sock, ventile: made from cotton staple bres that swell when wet. The fabric adjusts its pored based on surroundings. What is a loom: warp beam is where the warp yarns are thread through, the weft yarn runs across them in a shuttle. The weave harness keeps the warp yarns straight and moves them in union or when the lling yarn is being moved across. Two kinds of problems with grain: if grain is skewed: one edge of yarns are running ahead of others skew weft is off square but straight (not 90 degrees to weft yarn)
