Emma donoghue is an irish-canadian writer, born 1969. The setting of room is room the only things outside of room is the real world and tv space. Locked room is inspired by claustrophobic tender bond of parenting. Room is jacks home; room is a safe haven and a prison. All of jack"s friends are in that room and it"s his entire world. Themes of room include: mother-child bond. Ma has created this safe place and real world for jack to live a normal life. Ma doesn"t see jack as 50% of old nick she loves him as he is %100 hers. Ma is gone a couple of days and jack just acknowledges this as a norm. Jack asks for stories to be told with him in them: claustrophobia every time they occupy a new space it"s very trying for them to accept it. Jack is the narrator and also protagonist (first person narration of a 5 year old).
