Web 2. 0 has allowed for democratic, participatory culture. As such, multiple ideologies can coexist in the same digital sphere. The monomyth has shifted, and is no longer the only dominant narrative in society. Outside of institutions, other narratives are being created. Modernism can be credited with the development of industrialism. It is a philosophy rooted in scientific method and logic. It comes from the thought process of the masses that reflects the mindset we have entered a modern state. this development came after wwi, when perceptions of art shifted. It refutes the unseen, such as nietzsche"s proclamation that art replaces god. modernism focused on the reinterpretation of reality through a tangible lens. Objects are designed with the mindset that function of an object should dictate form. Modernism is focused on advancing the progress of human life, however, it can also mean harming other forms of life to do so.
