A show with a mix of acts. Acts are chosen to appeal to the broadest possible audience. People didn"t have microprogramming before so they had to watch: something in there for everyone. Runny gags, master of ceremony, disc jockey. Show would be revolved around different stars every week. Small number of radio and tv stations.
