RTA 211 Lecture Notes - Lecture 3: Blu-Ray
Document Summary
Movement is one of the easiest ways to incorporate creativity into a shot. Logging - reviewing daily footage as it comes in, jump start on post production. First cut - using storyboard as guide to make selections, piecing together the story, usable footage is trimmed and marked, bad takes cast aside. Rough cut - first true edit and is the stage in which you start to display your style, about storytelling. Fine cut - focus on details of every cut, emphasizes and strengthens the rhythms and structures identified in first cut. Final cut - cutting and timing of footage is finalized. Final step before deliverables include coloring and adding audio/visual special effects. Continuity editing - process of creating a smooth and seamless narrative experience for the audience. Parallel editing - takes separate scenes in different locations or periods and edits them together to make it appear as if they are unfolding at the same time.
