Resolution: the number of pixels per inch (ppi) in a digital image. Image size: the dimension of the photoshop file. Image size and resolution are related, because any time you modify the size of an image, it will directly affect the resolution. Image size: the physical dimensions of the image. File size: how big the file is in the computer"s memory, every pixel in an image increases file size, layers increase file size, resolution and image size both affect file size. Whenever you duplicate a layer, then invert the bottom layer and set the opacity of the top layer to 50%, the composite result of the two layers will be an entirely gray image. Procedure is useful for aligning two identical images. If you change from one colour mode to another, adjustment layers and blending modes may not translate correctly. Instead, merge all layers with adjustments and blending modes before converting to another colour mode.
