The flexo printing press consists of four sections: infeed, printing, and outfeed (or rewind). A flexo printing process can be described as a: The main flexo web press configurations are inline, stack and: 4 major configurations, based on arrangement of the printing units or print stations: Flexo press widths can range from 6 to over 150 (over 12 ft wide) Presses with widths of up to 20 are called narrow-web presses. Presses with widths of over 20 are called wide-web presses. Sheetfed flexo presses, mostly for corrugated board, fall into a separate category. Print stations are held between two side frames. Large space between print stations allow wide range of plate cylinder diameters to be used. Can be easily used in-line with other manufacturing processes. Also widely used for flood coating (overall continuous coating or printing of the substrate) Flood coating is sometimes used to preprint or pre-coat corrugated liner board.
