Document Summary
Lamination is the technique/process of manufacturing a material in multiple layers, so that the composite material achieves improved strength , stability, appearance or other properties from the use of materials with unique characteristics. Printed products can be laminated on 1 or 2 faces. Come in a variety of thicknesses from self-wound (less than 1 mil) to protective polymers (over 20 mil) Coatings and varnishes are applied as the very last step to either protect the printed product or to further enhance it. Top coatings and varnishes can be applied through a variety of different processes. Consistency of ink , typically without colour, but can be tinted to achieve special effects. Coating designed to make the back liner receptive to inkjet ink. Release liner - a paper or film carrier for pressure sensitive labels. Release coating - allows pressure-sensitive labels to release from the release liners.
