On subways and busses, people will take outside seats and space themselves out if they can. Development of spatial learning and mental maps. People image environments in 3d - everyone got to class by running a movie of the route, not by following a mental flat map. We navigate by using landmarks, big and small, and take known routes even when better ones exist. People, generally have a difficult time identifying their own neighborhood from an air photo until it is tilted and the altitude lowered. Attitude and altitude we are biologically programmed for 3d bifocal depth perception and tree height perspective! Altitude altitude is how high the building is from the others.
