Places are not merely the built environment, but total environment comprised of physical space, people, furnishings, machines, sensory attributes, actions and meanings. The environment you are born into, will have an influence over you. It is not just classrooms that have a meaning imbued by its inhabitants all front country environments do: meanings are defined by: Behaviour: doing things appropriate to the space. Rules doing what is expected of you. Image doing what you expect of the place. Written laws fortified laws, when you break those laws, there are punitive laws. Unwritten laws customary practices that are transmitted from one generation to a(cid:374)other (cid:271)(cid:455) (cid:449)ord of (cid:373)outh, espe(cid:272)iall(cid:455) fro(cid:373) pare(cid:374)ts to offspri(cid:374)g"s. That depends on religion on order of the rituals, and on exactly what it is you are singing and how you are dancing. Conformity to the code defines your place in a place: controls how we act.
