Movie notes (nova in the path of a killer volcano) When magma rises, so2 is released in the atoms from the cracks. St. helen was caused when a massive landslide weakened a wall. Some volcanoes release flows of magma and others release jets of hot gasses in the sky. Some waves of gasses and dust run across at 100mph. There are 4 levels of alerts to forecast the eruption of a volcanoes. When volcanoes prediction is wrong is catastrophic. First big eruption was on the 12th of june, but it wasn"t the biggest. Biggest blast was on the 15th of june 1991, eruption is over 10 miles wide. In half a week the animals on the island die. Alert 3: eruption can occur during 2 weeks. Alert 4: eruption will occur during 24 hours. Nevaldo del riuz- forecasters said there is no volcano to erupt, but it did erupt 1980 somethin, 15 mile radius of volcano had to be evacuated.
