Downtown hospitals: has specialist hospitals, serves a larger population, has bridges/tunnels to connect to buildings surrounding it (crossing streets; sickkids hospital, emergency services with teleconference pads (roofs of hospital) Suburban hospitals: serves local people, not necessarily the most accessible location. Private sector (ie. cineplex: has standards to meet; must be accessible to, doesn"t have to have accessibility to the entire population, servicing everyone people, wants to make the most money (profit) To measure how quickly fire halls get to the fire hydrant; now they have a map/know exactly where all of them are: response time should"ve been within 4 minutes (location dependent) Having a cluster of home depots, michaels and all those home-improvement stores together. Anomalies: their contract is working around that specific store, vicinity you register home location, could be replaced. For precision on location: asking you for postal code, loyalty, credit cards, loblaws bought shoppers drug mart, rivers and islands increasing the friction of distance.
