What is globalization: increase in interdependence among regions, countries, economically, socially, culturally, technologically, has increased in scope, size, and velocity(speed, characterized by the movement of people, goods, and ideas from one place to another. As a result it is creating a more homogeneous global cultures. Homogeneous values are characterized as shared values, beliefs, social forms. Total learned ways of life of a society. Takes the form of shared beliefs, traditions, customs, and material traits. Ideas of globalization can be transmitted to one generation to another: language, symbols, signs, gestures, globalization of consumption. The survivor of cultural distinctiveness and customary beliefs as well as social forms are being threatened by the global diffusion of consumption patterns. Jeans, nike products, mcdonalds we all use them regardless of orientation, social status, race, cultural etc: globalization of telecommunication. Cable news network, internet, satellite based communication systems, fiber optics have increased knowledge about other distant locations.
