Book called why we eat what we eat: how the encounter between the new world and old. World changed how everybody on the planet eats . The way the world eats today changed because of what happened, genoa. Genoa: 3 important people that come from there: giovanni caboto = john cabot. Arrived in the new world in 1492. He got to new world thinking that he reached asia. That was the first of 4 voyages that he embarked upon to the new world. Objective was to find a route to the east by sailing west. Was not the first european to venture across the atlantic into the new world. Nw was reached by other sailors from further north, scandinavians. Kind of gets the nod despite the fact that no european discovered the new world. He was responsible and the people that follow him. Unleashed european diseases upon the aboriginal populations.
