Wrote about semioics- semioics is the study of symbols and funcions, important part of our lives (ex. When something turns from raw material to something can be consumed. Edmund leech wrote that cooking by the means that nature is transformed. No other animal cooks (cooking is not a natural insinct) Humans began to cook about 150,000 years ago. Invenion of cooking can be regarded as irst scieniic revoluion. Body doesn"t have to work as hard to consume cooked food. Literature shows cooked food gives humans more energy, energy went to human brain. Brain requires half a cup of sugar to funcion, brain consumes a lot of calories, part of our body that tends to beneit most from cooked food. Cooking enables us to eat more food (avg. American consumes 50 pounds of food in lifeime)
