The holy trinity church was founded in 1847. Mary lambert swale donated a large sum to have the church built. In the back of the church, on the first floor, there was a school for boys, and on the upper floor, there was the first school for girls. People that attended the church were a part of anti-modernism who thought to preserve the buildings instead of taking them down: to maintain a place that would be safe play, sit, etc. Reverend fisk (1962-1976) was in charge of holy trinity church: eaton tried to get rid of the church relocating the church. Social justice commitment: church was built for low income people, when most churches was welcoming mid to higher income people. Young street splits toronto in half the east and the west. The reform movement in 1972 was able to win majority seats in the municipal government .
