3point registration: can either push or pull to sides, but normally single sheet is push and stream feed is pull. Mechanical detectors are set up to measure the caliper of the paper, if there is more than one sheet it will stop the feeder, but not the press; measures the density of the paper. Must be scheduled into production; cannot be put off or forgotten. 2 types: push or pull; ensures all paper goes into the press in the same position: rollers rotate the paper into the side guide for alignment. Move out of the way for grippers to grab the paper. Must have the proper pressure or else it either doesn"t grab the paper or damages the paper: too much pressure could mark or tear the paper, wrinkles on the paper can appear if the pressure is incorrect.
