Us and canadian consumption did not increase in 1974. Domestic consumption rose: -> 2% in 1975, 1. 8% annually between 1976- Total energy prices increased 800% between 1973 and 1980. Utilities raised prices for balance lower energy sales. No need for nuclear energy in 1970s. In new brunswick, 100% of nuclear power sold out of province and into us. Paid for by tax payers and nb-power customers. Activists in the 1970s equated nuclear power with nuclear weapons.
