Document Summary

Inductive- generate theory and then test it by collecting data. Deductive- collect data and then generate a theory. It doesn"t always have to be just one thing in research. If both variables increase, then it is positive. If one increases as the other decreases, then it"s negative e. g. temperature and coat sales. Reality is shared- we try to be as separate as possible then the people we are asking, we try to make sure everyone has the same level of influence. Try to remove that influence and keep it as straight and clean as possible. Test theories deductively, looking to add on existing knowledge. Ethics is rarely praised, you don"t get a thumbs up if you write an ethical article. Yu are only penalized if it is not ethical. It concerns how we treat our participants, our data, our analysis and others work.
