Building design team complement: architects, mechanical, electrical and structural engineers, interior designers and others which may include communication, security or code consultants etc. The interior designer must have comprehensive knowledge of the methods of construction and the inherent constraints and limitations. Interior designers may be required to be part of the project team in the design of new buildings, especially in the development of the floor plate. Normally, interior designers must work within the parameters established by the architects and engineers. Loads must be transferred vertically and directly down to the ground, therefore all the supports must stack in a tower-like formation. The skeleton frame for multi storey buildings: structural steel frame. Rigid or braced skeletal frames may rely on concrete core for lateral stiffness. Parts are shop fabricated, shipped to the site and erected there. Not as monolithic as the placed reinforced concrete system.
