According to tradition we know that the greeks believe sometime in the 8th century a greek poet named homer supposedly bling wrote the iliad and the odyssey. Story opens in the 10th year with achilles angry with the king for taking his woman from him. Achilles refuses to participate no matter what golds and riches he was offered. He is preparing to leave, but his beloved patroclus goes into battle in achilles place (wearing achilles armor), and is killed by hector (older brother of paris). News and body is delivered back the achilles. Achilles is presented with the dead body of his beloved. He returns to battle, and his grief manifests as rage. Kills prisoners, his rage possibly provokes backlash from natural world. Fear of greeks that their emotions will overwhelm everything they do.
