Computer application: a computer software program that executes on a computing device to carry out a specific function or set of related functions. Sometimes it is shortened to be in the form of an app . Information system: a set of interrelated computer components that collects, processes, stores and provides as output the information needed to complete business tasks. Includes the data base, software and even the related manual processes. System analysis: consists of those activities that enable a person to understand and specify what the new system should accomplish. Understand and specify. systems analysis is much more than simply a brief statement of the problem. System design: consists of those activities that enable a person to describe in detail the system that solves the need. In other words, systems design descirbes how the system will work. It specifies in detail all the components of the solution system and how they work together to provide the desired solutions.
