1) ethics: the study of morality, notions affecting customs, habits or behaviors: not every moral issue/problem is a moral dilemma, dilemma is when there are two undesirable options, morality: system of rules for guiding human conduct, and principles for evaluating, morality is a system, and is comprised of moral rules and principles, moral rules = rules of conduct, similar to policies those rules. Direct us in our moral choices at the micro level: example: don"t steal, don"t harm others b) social policies: rules that guide us at the macro level, and help us frame social policies, example: software shouldn"t be copied, software that affects privacy shouldn"t be developed c) principles: rules of conducts are evaluated by standards called principles, the principle of social utility is promoting the greatest good for the majority, the policy could be justified if it would produce the most overall social utility.
