Sources of employment law: parliament can"t pass an act that disagrees with the constitution. If it does it is considered not enforceable: think of the constitution as a parent, the kids need to listen to the parent"s rules, 3 main sources of law, statue law, constitutional law, common law. The canadian constitution: the dominant source of canadian law, all legislation & the common law must conform to the constitution. The constitution act, 1867: establishes canada"s system of government, including the division of powers between the federal government & the provinces & territories, this was an act of the united kingdom.
