Public and private law: public law: involves government directly. These are divided in criminal, admin, and constitutional: private law: involves private legal persons- that are individuals and corporations. Includes law of contract, law of tort, and law of property: public international law: relationship amount states and is reflected in treaties, conventions, and the charters of international organizations. This is the following: (order of importance: convention establishing rules between or among contracting states; International customs, as evidence of a general practice accepted as law: general principles recognized by civilized nations; and. Judicial decisions and teachings of various nations, as subsidiary means for determining the rules of law: private international law: is law regulating the affairs of private persons located in different countries. Federal and provincial legislation implementing trends and international agreements. (page 10) Accords, protocols, covenants, and exchange or letter or notice. Step 1: negotiate terms of treaty by representatives of national government.
