Two sound systems in tuva: tambered centered, pitch centered, enters zone sound of turbulence and stays there with no movement of pitch but rather a turbulence of sound. Tuva is located in between russia and mongolia but was part of russia for a long time. Most common middle voice khoomei style standard type. Under communist rule, the music was altered and damaged in some ways. 1944 stalin from ussr took it over and crushed religion/ music/ culture. Religion was shamanic (shamans were killed outright) 1990"s became a country again when ussr feel apart and thus began to rebuild its culture.
