Professional development 1: social, political and economic perspectives. Everything we do and say relects our values and beliefs about the world around us. We show what we think and value through what we do and how we do it. What we value, what principles and attributes are important to us, what we value in others, what we prioritize over other things. We show this in even the littlest things we do. We are often not explicitly aware of our values until we experience a conlict. Promises are varied in scope and seriousness. From wedding vows and employment contracts to meeting for dinner at a pre- arranged time and keeping a secret for a friend. We are part of a large group of professionals who are diverse in many ways. A: as a nurse, it is important to have shared values as it allows everyone as a team to provide the best possible care to a patient.
