Ligaments: white, flexible bands of fibrous tissue that bind joints together and connect bones and cartilages, allow flexibility and support. Tendons: white, fibrous bands of tissue that connects muscle to bone. Cartilage: non vascular, supports connective tissue with flexibility like hard plastic. Is an active process made of fibers that contract when they are stimulated. Awareness of the position of the body and its parts (heather & mccance, 2008) Posture is regulated by the nervous system. Body alignment: correct alignment is important to reduce strain, maintains muscle ton and contributes to balance.
