Reality as it is is okay (conservative/ right) There is such a thing as rationality and they need to be made real (left/young/feuerbach) For germany the criticism of religion has been completed . Prior to pg. 34-35: wants to apply the study of religion to all of philosophy. Premise of religion is vital for all criticism. Man makes religion, religion does not make man (f. thinking) Self-alienation: religion is a self-alienating exercise: says god didn"t make the world, but m. is saying to unmask the human in the holy form, alien = other, Put something independent as something higher (put human essence and apply it to something other god )
