Philosophy the lesson ater irst midterm october 26th 2015. Epistemology is an explanaion as to what we know and an augment about how we know it. We don"t have any other way to describe what we know. Mathemaics is language. (1+1=2 each individual symbol is a word. ) (1) meanings carried by the words we use are oten ambiguous. (2) they limit where we can go. Plato did not know that we are limited. Metaphysics has to do with the forms. Socrates starts by saying that knowledge is not content. If i ask you what something is and you give me an example. Is not percepion- our percepions are based of what we know and see they are not completely accurate? (sense percepion is passive) Knowledge: (plato"s belief) (1) must be infallible (cannot be wrong)- the same for everyone. It is what it is is not judgement.
