These principles are subject to interference that can influence them. A universal principle that a foot massage is pleasurable. However, not everybody will get pleasure from a foot massage. Interfering factors: factors that define us in comparison to the true judges. Cannot perceive all of the aspects of the work can interfere with: why believe in these universal principles of taste? our ability to receive pleasure. Hume believes that everything should be based on experience or observational evidence (empiricist) Certain works have demonstrated their appeal over time stood the test of time. Example] homer, the greek poet is admired at paris and london every culture since homer"s existence: hume does qualify his claim here in an important way.
