Camus gives us a rapid inventory of the absurd climate . Recognizing of the density of the world leads to recognizing that i am not at home in the world , and that is alien. The feeling of homelessness in the world is what philosophers refer to as alienation: often likened to experience of exile, suggests we were once at home in the world. The desire to once again be at home in the world. The strongest desire of reason is to regain the sense of being at home in the world, having lost the initial immediacy of our unconscious enjoyment of it. Camus points out that, despite our desire to find ourselves at home in the world, the projections of desire are untrue: the world remains other , or alien to reason. A sense of inhuman in interacting with others.
