Ppl want different things bc they have. In world of limited resources, not everyone can get what they want. Simply put, politics is study of who gets what, when, and how. Power is central to understanding who gets what,when, and why. Power; ability to achieve an objective by influencing behaviour of others. Debates about gov"t, institutions, policies are institutions that govern ppl just what extent do they reflect social inequalities how can we design better/more just institutions. Have fun, relax, escape daily drudgery of life, see world thru someone else"s eyes, Don"t be overly critical, try to find meaning in films. Holds a mirror to society, relationships/dynamics of pwr in social and formal politics. Influe how we think, who we are idea about fairness/justice reinforces stereotypes new/unconventional ideals explored potential is limiting and liberating. Films have life of own, not just what writer/director intended.
